Remote Dog Trainers
The key to getting the correct product here is to better understand your needs. Remote dog trainers are available that cover a maximum range from 30 ft to 1,000 yards.
The typical training range is:
- Less than 150 Yards
- 150 Yards
- 300 Yards
- 400 Yards
- 1,000 Yards
You can expect them to get more expensive as the range increases. Also, keep in mind that some of the Remote Dog Trainers can only work with one dog, so choose carefully if you plan to increase the number of dogs on your system.
Wireless Fence Collars
All of the collars are wireless in a way, in that they communicate electronically, and without wires, with either the trainer, or the fence.
When we refer to Wireless Fence Collars, we are talking about the Wireless Dog Fence Systems by either PetSafe, or Perimeter Technologies.
These systems are fences that are completely wireless, and extra collars are available. In both cases, the capacity of these systems is two dogs.
Contain 'N' Train Collars
The Innotek Contain 'N' Train Systems are combined fence and trainers in one. There are two models, the Basic Contain 'N' Train, and the Ultrasmart Contain 'N' Train.
Both of these systems have an essentially unlimited capacity for the fence, but a two dog capacity for the remote training feature.
To select a collar, you will need to stick to the type. Ultrasmart fence collars for the Ultrasmart Contain 'N' Train, or the regular collars for the Basic Contain 'N' Train.
In-Ground Dog Fence Collars
The In-Ground Dog Fences are by PetSafe or Innotek.
As a general rule, you will want to stck with type: Ultrasmart Collars for the Ultrasmart Systems, Stubborn Collars for the Stubborn Dog Fence, and re-chargeable collars for the rechargeable systems.
